Welcome

I offer a warm, supportive and confidential counselling service for adults, providing a space to explore what may be troubling you at your own pace. Whether you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low in mood or simply stuck, counselling can offer time and space to reflect, gain clarity and work towards change.

I work in a way that is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) while being strongly grounded in a person-centred approach. This means our work is collaborative, respectful and focused on what feels most important to you, while also helping to explore how thoughts, feelings and behaviours may be connected.

What I Can Help With

People come to counselling for many different reasons. Sometimes there is a clear difficulty they want support with, and at other times it is a more general sense that something does not feel right. You do not need to fit neatly into a category to benefit from counselling.

I work with adults and offer support in the following areas.

Anxiety & Panic

Support for anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and generalised anxiety through evidence-based CBT techniques.

Depression & Low Mood

Help with depression, persistent low mood, and feelings of hopelessness using structured therapeutic approaches.

OCD & Intrusive Thoughts

Specialised support for obsessive-compulsive disorder and managing intrusive, unwanted thoughts.

Trauma & PTSD

Trauma-informed therapy for post-traumatic stress and processing difficult past experiences.

Phobias & Fears

Systematic approaches to overcoming specific phobias and irrational fears that impact daily life.

Stress & Relationships

Support for work-related stress, burnout, and relationship difficulties affecting your wellbeing.

How I Work

The purpose of therapy is to provide a safe, structured and supportive space where you can explore what is difficult, gain understanding and work towards meaningful change. My role is to support you in making sense of your experiences and to help you develop ways of coping that feel realistic and manageable for you.

My work is informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and grounded in a person-centred approach. This means that while sessions may include structure, reflection and practical focus, the work remains led by you, your experiences and what feels most important in the moment. Therapy is collaborative rather than prescriptive, and we work together to decide what is helpful.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and usually include a simple agenda. This helps us stay focused and ensures that sessions feel purposeful and value adding, while still allowing flexibility if something important needs attention. The structure is there to support the work, not to restrict it, and you can adapt this to suit your needs.

I place strong emphasis on working at your pace. There is no expectation to share everything at once or to know exactly what to say. Many people begin therapy feeling unsure where to start, and this is completely normal. Part of the process is gently exploring and making sense of things together over time.

Confidentiality is a key part of my practice and helps to create a sense of safety and trust within the therapeutic relationship. I work ethically and responsibly and am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), ensuring that personal information is handled with care and in line with data protection requirements. Any limits to confidentiality will be discussed clearly at the outset.

If you are unsure whether counselling is right for you, or whether my way of working feels like a good fit, we can always talk first. An initial conversation offers an opportunity to ask questions, share a little about what you are looking for and decide together whether therapy feels appropriate for you.

Taking the Next Step

Reaching out for counselling can feel difficult, and it's normal to feel unsure about what to say. You don't need to explain everything or have the right words. Simply getting in touch is enough.
